Screenplay

Olivia has been sick so the work was divided up between me, Skyler, and Kayla. I wrote the first half, Skyler wrote the second half, and Kayla did the camera angles/movements. In total it took approx. an hour for each of us to complete our section. It was a pretty straight forward task since we already had the outline of the story in our previous assignment. There were some minor tweaks to the ending but other than that it stayed consistent.

  1. Ext. Woods - Day

In an isolated piece of wilderness

Low angle, close up shot

Girl

(Slow, careful walking. She seems hesitant, like she’s afraid of being heard. Footsteps echoing, twig suddenly snaps. She stands dead still. Cut to close up on eye. Terrified look, bloodshot and dilated. Pupil darts to the side.)

Eye level, medium shot

Girl

(Slowly turns around and sees a masked man directly behind her.)

Man

(Disheveled and splattered in caked on blood. It must have been on him for a while. His face is hidden via the mask. He stands heavily, like he’s being weighed down. Dirty knife in hand.)

Low angle, close up shot

Girl

(Wastes no time running. Not even a split second after it registers in her mind what’s going on, she starts running erratically through the forest. Obviously desperate, heaving. Foot catches on a rock and she’s thrown to the ground. Lands ungracefully, it looks painful. Covered in dirt and scratches. The world seems to go eerily silent. All noise stops except breathing. She feels a presence and forces her eyes upward.)

Eye level, wide shot

Man

(He stands over her ominously. There’s no face to be seen, only the mask. It’s like he teleported there, uncomfortably close to her, he wasn’t even heard running. He pants heavily like a hungry beast. The breathing doesn’t even sound human. A sinister eye is suddenly seen through his mask. It stares down his prey, unblinking.)

Establishing shot

Girl

(She catches his gaze. Her blood seems to run cold and she’s pale as a ghost. The silence is deafening as she scrambles backwards. Frantically feeling around in the dirt for anything that could help her.)

Close up shot

(Almost cutting her hand she feels a bit more hopeful as she finds a piece of broken glass on the ground from what she assumes was a bottle. She prays hoping he won't realize she's grabbing for it right near his feet.)

Close up shot

(Wasting no time upon picking up the sharp objects she impales his leg leaving a large gash and the glass stuck in his leg)

Masked Man

*lets out hurt wail*

Masked Man

*falls back, breathing heavily*

Girl/Victim

*gets up and runs, frantically breathing*

Two shot

(not bothering to look back she manages to run to a side gate belonging to a property nearby. The first house she's seen in miles. She wearily hopes that there will be somebody there who can help her)

Girl/Victim

(running up to the door Screaming)

*“HELP! SOMEBODY! HELLO?!”*

(bangs on door frantically)

Rear/over the shoulder shot

(as she approaches the door screaming, her mind racing a hundred miles a second, she doesn't notice all the lights are off inside and around the property. She doesn't notice the ‘Beware of dog’ sign that is not accompanied by a bark)

Eye level shot

(as sweat is dripping in her eyes she manages to get her first clear thought. She checks the door knob and realizes it's unlocked. Cautiously approaching the inside she is welcomed with an awful stench)

*She whispers to herself*

”oh god”

Eye level shot

(she throws her hand up to her nose trying to mask the strong odor. It doesn't take too many steps before she notices them)

*screaming in disbelief and defeat*

“NO! OH NO!”

Low angle, eye level

(she falls to the floor as the sight of two lifeless bodies are before her. The couple staying in the cabin had been murdered.)

*stands up shakily*

Medium shot, eye level

(she knows she must keep moving , this thought is then interrupted by a loud bang and a deep, eery shrill)

Masked Man

*stomping heavily onto the first step*

*screams into doorway*

“What's the matter? You don't like your surprise?”

*laugh in evil way*

Medium shot, eye level

Girl/Victim

(shuddering in disgust, and not wanting to end up like the helpless couple on the floor she gets up and books it for the back door)
