Mise-en-Scene Case Study Assignment- Activity #2

                                                                                Western

I chose this collection of items to be my mise-en-scene because they're sort of rustic and rugged like a cowboy would be. The image is very warm toned and the composition is simple.

    Gangster

This is an image of a safe with documents or money sticking out and hidden by clothes. There's something intense and cold about it; it implies some type of secret business.

                                                                       Romantic Comedy
When I think of romantic comedies, I think of something very light-hearted and cheerful. The bright colors and lighting here do a great job of conveying that.

Horror
The color palette of this image is kind of dark and foreboding. To me, the streaks in the mirror look like a ghost and since you can't see behind the shower curtain there's no telling what's back there.

                                                                                Sitcom
There's very minimal editing so this looks quite everyday/average. The colors are a little brighter and I chose a picture of shoes because sitcoms often involve a group of friends or a family.

Social Realist Drama
A minimalistic as this is, I think it would play to the advantage of a social realist drama. It keeps the focus on the actor's performance while keeping a strong air of seriousness.

Soap Opera
This would make the perfect setting for all of scandal and betrayal involved in soap operas. The characters are usually high class and outwardly put together.
